Buoyed up by the success it has achieved with its six small aircraft, Air Deccan plans to expand further by acquiring Airbus A 320s for the long distance grand trunk routes. Speaking to Deccan Herald, Air Deccan’s Managing Director Captain G R Gopinath said, “The Airbus will be inducted into our fleet by the end of June or in the first week of July.” These A 320s, which will seat 180 passengers in an all-economy layout, is likely to give Air Deccan an edge over other major players as they would operate from the ‘low fare-little frills’ plank.
